Innovation Agents were deployed in the regions of Arica and Parinacota, Antofagasta, Atacama and Coquimbo to carry out diagnostics and training related to the survey of infrastructure, equipment and human capital capacities for R & D.
A valuable work in a field has made the APTA Hub team supported with two technical coexecuting agencies, which have been concentrated in the Universities of Tarapacá, Antofagasta, Católica del Norte, Atacama and La Serena.
One of these processes became a point with KIM – a European company with more than 10 years of experience in the commercialization of technologies – to carry out a process of lifting inventions. This is a process that seeks the capacity of this process, the use of a document created by the center, in order to discover developments with the commercial potential that can be part of the APTA portfolio.
With the information that was made during this process, the Hub team and the KIM co-executor will work a detailed report with the evaluation of the detected technologies and a training plan for the teams of the Transfer and Licensing Offices, according to the knowledge gaps found.
On the other hand, the professionals carried out in parallel the process of information gathering of infrastructure, equipment and human capital capacities for research and development in each of the universities; activity carried out with the support of ASEMBIO (Chilean Association of Biotechnology Companies). The data collection will characterize the resources of each institution, obtaining a database that the APTA Hub can manage to know which are the universities that have the most suitable resources to solve technological challenges.
This information will be indexed to a platform that will allow data to be crossed for the creation of interdisciplinary research teams. For its part, the goal is that this work is learned by the professionals of the houses of studies, so that in the future they can complete and update these databases. Currently, Innovation agents continue to visit the partner universities of the Hub belonging to the South of the country, to finish the tour in the institutions of the Center area.
“We have reinforced the commitment with our partner universities by specifying an outstanding work in the field; that in addition to contributing on technical issues, has allowed us to strengthen the ties and confidence with the teams of professionals of the Transfer and Licensing Offices, allowing us to capture in situ the true value of APTA, “says Marlene Sánchez, general coordinator.
