Methods and compositions to improve the nutritional conditions of potato and tomato crops, using beneficial microorganisms in the rhizosphere of the plants, requiring less added fertilizer, and improving crop yields.
-When the fertilization is reduced to 50% from the standard values, plants showed a 25% greater vegetative growth, increasing their height and/or diameter compared to untreated plants.
-In tomato plants, the number of fruits increased by at least 30% compared to untreated plants.
-In potatoes, the greater caliber tubers showed an increase proportion of weight yield when the fertilization was 50% or less than the agronomic standard values.
-Improvements in resistance to fungal attack (Phytophtora infestans challenge), being at least four times more resistant to fungal infection, compared to conventional fungicidal treatment.
